Abu Dhabi Corniche. Kudos to Renee for sweating it out to take these photos. She was running around trying to get a good beach shot (in the 100+ degree heat), while, Jared, Dan, and I waited in the AC car.
Another good Corniche picture courtesy of Renee. There is a lovely path along the Corniche (similarly to Doha, actually), which I am sure is great to walk or run along in the cooler months.
Emirates Palace as seen from the Corniche. Iconic UAE shot.
The 'last supper' at Al Hallab.
After the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd, Goble and Renee had three days to explore Dubai themselves while both Jared and I had to work. I think they had a great time, taking in our favorite malls (MOE aka Mall of the Emirates with Ski Dubai and the Dubai Mall in our neighborhood) and spent one afternoon and evening on a Desert Safari on their own. For their last night here we thought it would be fitting to end with another Arabic/Lebanese meal at our favorite place this time, Al Hallab. It gave their visit nice symmetry, with their first and last meal being Arabic. It was great to have them, and hopefully it won't be too long before we see them again!
